Options Bytown provides a range of assessment and support services to 24 social housing tenants who require housing supports to maintain housing and prevent eviction. This is a partnership between the City of Ottawa, Options Bytown, and Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC). CCOC is a large social housing landlord in Ottawa.
This program is designed to house people who have lived in the shelter system for some time, and who have a number of life challenges. In this program Options Bytown also supports a number of existing CCOC tenants who, without our support, might otherwise become street-involved.
Services include advice and support in arranging accessing income support programs and other benefits, assistance to understand the tenancy agreement and provide advice and support to enable clients to fulfil their tenancy obligations and prevent loss of housing; support to develop basic life skills, referral to specialist community services relating to addictions or mental health and counselling where appropriate.
